Sunbathing on a beach or lying by the pool might be an ideal holiday for some, but not for Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez.

The couple barely sat still during a romantic break to Hawaii this month, keeping in shape cycling and kayaking.

In photos released today Cameron can be seen showing off her slender figure in skintight lycra as she races sports star Rodriguez along a road.

At one point Cameron comes a cropper, falling off her bike, but a fellow cyclist helps her back to her feet.

The previous day the 38-year-old actress showed off her incredibly toned body in a pair of skimpy bikini bottoms and white halter neck top as she took a kayaking trip with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez.

The actress took to the water for a jaunt on a kayak but this time it was the hired help that provided the power to navigating the waters in a red and yellow vessel.

Cameron and A-Rod were enjoying an A-list holiday alongside Naomi Campbell and her boyfriend Vladimir Doronin and were joined by Leonardo Di-Caprio and Bar Rafaeli on the Hawaiian trip.

The famous friends flew into the island together on a bright yellow helicopter on January 10 and these newly-released pictures give an insight into what some of the gang got up to.

Cameron sizzled in her red and white two piece, but struggled to contain her curves in the bright bikini bottoms and had to readjust them during the day out.

Her fine figure did not go unnoticed by model Naomi Campbell who could be seen eyeing up the actress as she returned from the kayaking trip.

But despite Cameron’s recent claims that she exercises to maintain her figure she wasn’t putting in many strokes and it seemed that the two helpers in the boat were doing most of the work.

Even her baseball boyfriend was looking lethargic and left the paddling to the helpers on board.

Then the actress teasingly asked her host: 'Wait a minute, do you want me to write that down?'

Like the rest of us, Jimmy seemed doubtful that Cameron's model figure was the result of a large appetite.

'I find that hard to believe', he told her, pointing at his own somewhat rotund body. 'Because I eat a lot and this is what happens.'

But whatever she is doing it is definitely working as she took to the red carpet in scarlet asymmetrical Azzaro dress and nude Casadei stilettos at the premier of The Green Hornet.

The Green Hornet is a superhero film, based on the fictional character created by American writer Fran Striker for radio in the 1930s.

Cameron plays Lenore Case in the film, a secretary who helps James Reid become a masked crime fighter after he inherits his father’s media empire.

Knocked up star Seth Rogan plays the lead role while Jay Chou and Christoph Waltz also star in the film.
