Quality time with dad: Matthew McConaughey spent an afternoon at the beach with his cute children Levi, two, and Vida, one


His female fans regularly gush over the sight of bare-chested Matthew McConaughey jogging at the beach.

But the Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past actor barely registered a glance yesterday in Malibu, despite his buff and tanned body being on full display.

Instead, all eyes were on the actor's gorgeous children, Levi and Vida.

Matthew wore a pair of grey and yellow Nike shorts and oddly, a beanie hat, despite the warm Malibu weather.

There was no sign of Levi and Vida's mother Camila Alves, Matthew's partner of four years, but the trio seemed content to have some quality father-children time alone with the family dogs.

The 41-year-old spend an afternoon frolicking at the water's edge and building sandcastles with Levi, two, and Vida, one.

The adorable pair have taken after their father's bohemian disdain for appearing in public fully clothed, running around the beach in their nappies.

Both of the youngsters have inherited their model mother's Brazilian skin tone, with Levi sporting a head full of wild hair.

Sunday was something of a Daddy Day Care say in Los Angeles, with a number of celebrity dads spotted out and about doing some solo parenting.

New father Orlando Bloom was seen for the first time in public with three week-old Flynn.

The proud husband of Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr cradled his newborn protectively during an excursion to a Los Angeles park.


Scene-stealer: His toddlers managed to steal the spotlight from Matthew, who is usually the centre of attention at the beach

And Gavin Rossdale was left holding the kids while Gwen Stefani jetted out to Montreal.

The rocker made sure it was a fun-filled day with his children Kingston and Zuma, taking them to the premiere of Gnomeo and Juliet.

After dropping the children off at their nearby home, fitness junkie Matthew returned to the beach to get a jog in.

With his scene-stealing children not in sight, the actor managed to win back the admiring stares he is accustomed to.

The Texan star appeared to be enjoying the laid back afternoon during a period or rare downtime.

The busy actor has three completed films scheduled for release this year - including Killer Joe, an oddball comedy in which he stars as a young man who puts out a hit on his mother to collect her life insurance after getting into debt.

He also stars in Bernie, with Jack Black and Shirley MacLaine, and The Lincoln Lawyer - out in the UK in March - with Marisa Tomei, Ryan Phillipe, William H. Macy and Josh Lucas.

Matthew and his friend Woody Harrelson also look to be taking a gamble on Lindsay Lohan.

The duo have just signed on to a comedy, The Dry Gulch Kid, starring the troubled actress, Johnny Knoxville and Willie Nelson.
