Katie Price and Peter Andre avoid BRIT Awards showdown after she is asked not to attend

It was going to be the acrimonious showdown that everyone was dreading as Katie Price and Peter Andre both headed to the BRIT Awards last night.

But after tweeting her excitement about attending the annual event, Katie was mysteriously nowhere to be seen.

And according to reports today, the glamour model opted to stay at home and watch the ceremony - after being asked not to go.

According to the Daily Star, Katie had a ticket but dropped out of going to the BRIT Awards after organisers advised her against it.

They feared there would be a showdown between her and ex-husband Andre and so made it clear they didn't want her there.

A friend told the paper: 'She has been stitched up.'

But a source at the Brits added: 'It was felt best to let her make her own decision with dignity rather than face being barred.'

The paper also reported that Katie blamed Andre for the decision and blasted the claim that they would get into a row and said: 'The source of which is pretty obvious.'

She then reportedly said that she did not want to take any attention away from the stars and said she would 'cheer them on in front of my TV'.

Katie, it would appear, had every intention of attending the event before she was advised to pull out.

She took to her Twitter page on Monday and asked her followers for their opinion on what colour nail polish to wear.

But last night she gave no mention of the reason why she didn't attend and instead took to her page again to say: 'Just picking curry up good job I recorded brits we will all sit and watch it woooo.'

Andre and Katie have been in a war of words since their daughter Princess ended up with a burn on her holiday to Switzerland last month.

But after the police got involved, the glamour model's mother Amy Price has admitted she was looking after the three-year-old in Klosters when the accident happened.

She told the Daily Mirror: 'I don’t understand why Pete is having a go at Kate.
'Her sister Sophie and I were the ones with Princess when it happened and I know it was a fluke accident - and just how minor it is.'

Princess was left with a burn on her back after leaning against a heated towel rail in their Swiss hotel suite three weeks ago.

Mrs Price added: 'Princess went straight back to playing. She slept soundly without pain and a week later there was barely a mark on her.'
